Each year, the Wild Rivers Conservancy, National Park Service, and U.S. Geological Survey partner to assess the algae in the St. Croix River. Volunteers are needed to collect water samples twice a month from July through September at several locations along the Riverway. Samples are then analyzed for levels of toxicity in efforts to learn more about the occurrence and potential for toxic algae blooms throughout the St. Croix River. Volunteer to collect samples at a location near you!
Please note: Volunteer opportunities for the Algae Alert Network are now full. We encourage you to consider another volunteer opportunity or check back next year. Thank you for your interest!
