Namekagon 3 Day Kayak Trip FAQs

When does registration go live?

Registration goes live on January 1st at 12PM.

I want to room with a friend, is that possible?

Yes, we do our best to accommodate rooming requests. If you are registering separately, we ask that you let us know who you would like to room with during the registration process.

Am I allowed to bring my own kayak, paddle, and PFD

There is no need, we provide everything you need for your three-day paddle adventure!

If you have a favorite paddle or PFD that you’d like to bring, we just ask that you let us know so we can adjust our packing list. We do not accommodate paddlers bringing their own kayaks.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes, we do our best accommodate dietary restrictions for meals, snacks, and beverages. We provide a variety of snacks for on the river with any dietary restrictions/allergies in mind, but recommend that paddlers bring any special snacks they may require.

Is there a waitlist?

These paddles sell out quickly, so there is usually a waitlist. To be added to the waitlist, feel free to email paddle@wildriversconservancy.org with your preferred paddle date and number of paddlers.

I have a large group interested, are there private paddle options available?

Depending on availability, we may be able to accommodate a private paddle. Please reach out to get the conversation going!

Why are May and June the available dates?

The section of the Namekagon River that we paddle is very shallow and rocky in some spots. Because of this, early season paddles when the water is generally higher provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Do I need to have previous kayaking experience?

Yes some prior experience is necessary. The Namekagon is a shallow and rocky river which requires some maneuvering to avoid obstacles in your path and maintain course through small rapids. You do not need to be an expert paddler by any means, but you should be able to comfortably and confidently steer a kayak and adjust based on changing conditions.

Does our luggage need to fit in our kayak?

No, our ground crew staff will ensure that your luggage gets transported to the hotel each night.
