Matt has spent over 20 years connecting people to the outdoors, driven by his passion for outdoor recreation, education, and conservation. He holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Hamline University and a bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation/conservation from Northern Michigan University. Before becoming Executive Director at Wild Rivers Conservancy, Matt held diverse positions supporting nonprofits, businesses, governments, and Tribal communities.


Outside of work, you can find Matt with his wife Kristen and their two kids, enjoying running, Nordic skiing, paddling, fishing, or playing his guitar in and around the Riverway.
