Alexia, originally from Atlanta, recently graduated from Berry College in Northwest Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Studies. She has experience working as a Fire Technician for The Nature Conservancy, where she aided in applying prescribed fire to the endangered Longleaf Pine ecosystem. She has more recently worked for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources as a Conservation Intern, where she gained experience working with a wide variety of taxa, including aquatic invertebrates, sparking her love for freshwater mussels.
