You’re invited to a free land protection workshop in Polk County.
Workshop Content:
- Permanent Conservation Easements
- Agreement between a landowner and land trust that limits specified land uses and development.
- Funding is available to pay landowners for the value of the easement.
- Public access is not required.
- Managed Forest Law
- DNR incentive program encouraging sustainable forestry on private woodland.
- Participation reduces property taxes. Landowners commit to a 25 or 50-year forest management plan that sets a schedule for specific forestry practices.
- Public access is not required.
- Wild Rivers Conservancy – Land Protection Program
- Free, forestry technical assistance program available to landowners
- Program connects landowners with guidance, assistance, and resources to achieve their land management goals.
