Wild Roots: Snowshoe Adventure

Let’s strap on our snowshoes and hit the trails at 21 Roots Farm to learn about animals that move throughout winter and the tracks they leave behind. We will even make some tracks of our own! Naturalist Jeremiah will teach us how to search the ground for signs of life and how to identify what we see. Afterward, we will use what we have learned to make track identification guides to bring on future adventures. Snowshoes provided.
Hike Length: < 1 mile with stops to identify tracks
Hike difficulty: Good for beginners
Features or other notes of interest: Family friendly event.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms available onsite.
Recommended items to bring/ wear:
- Long pants and layers (base layer, mid-layer, snow pants)
- Upper body layers like a long-sleeved shirt and jacket (moisture-wicking fabric is always a plus)
- Shoes or boots with traction
- Hat or beanie
- Gloves or mittens
- Camp chair to use around the fire
- Adequate water
- Flashlight or headlamp
