Native and Invasive Wildflower Hike

Revel in the beauty and serenity of wildflower season on this educational stroll.

Conservancy expert staff Alex Bouthilet and Maria Young will guide you through a beautiful St. Croix Valley landscape while highlighting native summer flowers such as blazing star, fireweed, and monarda, as well as pointing out invasive wildflowers like dame’s rocket, Crown vetch, purple loosestrife, spotted knapweed, tansy, creeping bellflower, and bird’s foot trefoil.

Vehicle Admission: Free

Hike Length: Around 2.0 miles

Hike Difficulty: Good for beginners, with some uneven terrain

Bathrooms: No bathrooms available

Recommended items to bring/wear:

  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes for hiking
  • Comfortable clothing and layers (appropriate for the weather)
  • Sun Protection: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Insect repellent (optional)
