**This event is now sold out. Please join us on August 5 for our next Learn to Paddle event at Square Lake Park!**
Have you seen someone paddling a kayak and thought it looked fun?
Ever wondered what you need to get started on a kayak adventure of your own?
We’ve got you covered with a beginner kayaking experience that will give you all the essential skills you need and build your confidence on the water!
Join the expert staff of the Wild Rivers Conservancy for an introduction to kayaking at Washington County’s Square Lake Park. Together with a small group of your peers and two trained instructors, you’ll learn:
- The basics of properly fitting a life jacket
- How to hold your paddle
- …and common paddling techniques.
Once you’re in your kayak on the water, you’ll get the chance to practice your new skills as we paddle along the shoreline. And before you know it, you’ll be ready to explore the lake at your own pace.
When: Saturday, July 10 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Cost: $40 per person (includes use of a kayak, paddle, and PFD)
Participant Limit: 12 (per event)
Suitable for ages 8 and up. No previous paddling experience required.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Depending on the weather and your personal comfort, you may wish to wear a swimsuit. Be prepared to get a bit wet!
