First Day Walk & Campfire

Kick off the first day of the year in the right direction, towards the St. Croix! Embark on a candlelit adventure at The Acreage in Osceola with Naturalist Jeremiah. After touring the forest, we will arrive at a campfire overlooking the St. Croix River after dark for cocoa and stories, BYOC (bring your own camp chair).
Hike Length: < 1 mile
Hike difficulty: Good for beginners
Features or other notes of interest: Beautiful open prairie with unobstructed views of the night sky. Bluff overlooking the St. Croix
Bathrooms: Yes, indoors, a short walk from the campfire
Cost: FREE
mended items to bring/ wear:
- Long pants and layers (base layer, mid-layer, snow pants)
- Upper body layers like a long-sleeved shirt and jacket (moisture-wicking fabric is always a plus)
- Shoes or boots with traction
- Hat or beanie
- Gloves or mittens
- Camp chair to use around the fire
- Adequate water
- Flashlight or headlamp
