CANCELED – Let’s Go Ice Fishing – Point Douglas Park

February 4, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

This event has been canceled due to safety concerns around poor ice conditions.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to ice fish? Or want your kids to learn but you don’t have the gear? Let Wild Rivers Conservancy bring the ice fishing to you!

With help from the National Park Service and our friends at LS Black Constructors, we’ll have all the necessities to help you or your child to catch your first fish. Learn ice fishing basics such as how to use the equipment, fish species identification, fishing rules, and regulations, and even get to try out some Junior Angler activities. All you need to bring is an excitement to learn and winter weather gear to stay warm out on the ice.

Sign up for one of three start times: 10 am, 11 am, or Noon.

No fishing license? No problem! Program participants will be allowed to fish at this event without a license for CATCH and RELEASE, due to an educational fishing license waiver with MN DNR.

Vehicle permits are required for parking at Point Douglas Park. Carpool, purchase a permit at the pay station when you arrive, or purchase online at https://www.co.washington.mn.us/493/Vehicle-Permit-Information

Cancelation Information:

For the safety of participants and staff, this program may be canceled due to inclement weather or a temperature of 0 degrees or below. Registered participants will be notified via email and event pages will be updated if the program is canceled.
